Winter Conditioning Season

This program will focus on training, strengthening and conditioning for rowers in preparation for the Spring Competitive Season, when the team gets back on the water. This program is open to past TCYR team members and new participants. New participants must be at least 14 years of age by the end of the calendar year or graduating 8th grade this summer, per club by-laws.

 

 

 

 

There are two partial-season options or a full season option, based on your availability:

Winter Session 1: 1/8/2024 – 2/03/2024 $275 (+ $75 Annual Dues Membership) 

Winter Session 2: 2/05/2024 – 3/03/2024 $275 (+ $75 Annual Dues Membership)

The training program will include:
Concept 2 rowing ergometers
Core strengthening and stability
Stretching and flexibility
Leg and upper body strengthening
Coordination and rowing specific motion
Exercises are supervised by trained rowing coaches and will include:
Medicine ball
Intense calisthenics
Light to moderate weights
Pull-ups and other guided strengthening exercises
Rowing tanks at The University of Minnesota Boathouse (TBD)

 

Our own indoor rowing competition, the TCYR ERG SPRINTS.  These will be available at an additional cost, announced closer to this indoor race day. 

All participants must be prepared to work hard and are expected to attend regularly to enable safe and productive training.

ALL WINTER PARTICIPANTS, whether past members or new to TCYR, must pay their 2024 Annual Dues Membership Fee AND the Season Program Fee to participate.  Those who complete registration for BOTH will be considered members for 2024 and will receive priority.
